Meadow Lake Tribal Council (MLTC) was created by nine First Nations located in north-west Saskatchewan who have constitutionally recognized aboriginal rights and Treaty Rights under Treaties #6, #8 and #10. The primary purpose of MLTC is to serve those First Nations in their aspirations for cultural, economic and political autonomy. As a private sector employer engaged primarily in promoting and serving the interests of the member First Nations, MLTC asserts its right to provide preferential treatment to First Nations people, giving them priority in decisions on employment matters such as hiring, and this can extend to measures such as opening competitions only to First Nations people.

The Meadow Lake Tribal Council is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented motivated individual to fill the full-time, permanent position of Accreditation Coordinator. This role is crucial in ensuring that our health services meet Accreditation Canada standards, continuously improve care quality, and maintain efficient document control systems. You will lead accreditation processes, coordinate quality improvement programs, manage the investigation of patient complaints, and ensure all documentation complies with healthcare standards and regulations.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the delivery of culturally safe and high-quality healthcare services for Indigenous communities while helping us meet regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Lead the accreditation process to ensure compliance with Accreditation Canada standards.
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, care outcomes, and service delivery.
- Investigate and resolve patient complaints related to care quality, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Oversee and maintain a comprehensive document control system to ensure policies, procedures, and forms are current, accessible, and compliant.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure care services are culturally relevant, safe, and aligned with the community’s needs.
- Provide training and support to staff on accreditation standards and document management best practices.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Nursing, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in healthcare accreditation, quality assurance, or document control.
- Strong understanding of Accreditation Canada standards and quality improvement processes.
- Experience in managing document control systems and investigating patient complaints.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with Indigenous health services and culturally relevant care is an asset.
- Be familiar with and understand First Nation barriers/issues/culture.
- Ability to speak Cree or Dene is considered a valuable asset.
