The English River First Nation is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the full time permanent position of Mental Health Therapist. Your considerable experience and primary role will support the needs for community members in crisis, at risk, or requiring generalist or specialist care as a Mental Health and Wellness Therapist.

 

Duties (include but not limited to):

 

  • Provide clinical training and feedback to a potential range of 1st and 2nd level counsellors
  • Manage and/or support during crisis situations; deliver direct crisis and clinical counselling to clients: individuals, couples, families or groups, if appropriate or required.
  • Provide workshops and training on relatable issues
  • Refer patients, clients or family members to resources or specialists as necessary or available and accessible.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • The position will be attractive to someone who has:
    • A range of comprehensive therapeutic counselling skills developed by significant experience with client centered and related holistic therapies and treatment approaches.
  • Must have a Master’s Degree in Mental Health and Wellness, Social Work, or Psychology
  • Experience in First Nations Health Services
  • Minimum of five (5) years as a certified clinical counsellor
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in therapeutic counselling
