The Administration Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support for various assigned programs/activities.  As part of the 3-member front office team, you will be required to perform Acting coverage in the absence of the Office Manager and cover Receptionist duties for short periods in the absence of the Receptionist (typically a casual will be called in to cover).  


Administrative Support Duties


  • Admin support for assigned meetings (Agendas, minutes, meeting prep such as per diems, bookings, co-ordinate with chair, assemble meeting kits).

  • Data Share site: perform administrator duties (user names and passwords), upload all deposit slips, service agreements and other information as requested by Finance

  • Develop and maintain e-filing system   

  • Format, revise and update procedures and policy manuals for various programs.

  • Maintaining an inventory of consumable office supplies; distributing as needed and ordering as requested.

  • Co-ordinate minor maintenance activities with maintenance contractors.




  • Certificate/Diploma if Office Education from a recognized institute with two (2) years related experience & knowledge in Administrative Support position.

  • Appropriate combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with staff, other MLTC departments, and the nine (9) First Nation’s communities. 

  • Demonstrated knowledge in office procedures; ability to maintain accurate records/files and documentation; excellent communication, organization and planning skills.

  • Able to consistently demonstrate professionalism with a strong work ethic while maintaining confidentiality and following all MLTC policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in computer software applications (i.e. Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).

  • Knowledge and understanding of MLTC and First Nation history, cultures, and values; ability to speak Cree and/or Dene will be considered an asset.

  • Some travelling will be required.
