MLTC is building a vendor-of-record roster of qualified therapists to provide therapy, counselling and support services for a mixed caseload, including adults, adolescents, and families experiencing mental health issues, communication challenges, or family conflict across the Meadow Lake First Nations (MLFN). This is an opportunity to collaborate as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team providing services to a broad spectrum of clients. The Mental Health Therapist will be familiar with other services in the community and work closely with them to provide information and support as required. Services will support Community Wellness, Education, Child and Family Services, and Justice.
- Travel to First Nation communities within the Meadow Lake Tribal Council.
- The First Nation may provide accommodation at a reasonable cost.
- MLTC contact in charge of this contract relationship is the MLTC Community Wellness Director.
Qualifications:
- Current registration in Saskatchewan as one of:
- Registered Social Worker (SASW);
- Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPNAS);
- Registered Psychologist (SKCP).
- Approved Mental Health Therapist with Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB).
- Mental Health Counselling provider number (eligible or pending).
- Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Must possess excellent organizational skills and time management abilities.
- Must serve as a positive role model for the Meadow Lake Tribal Council, youth, families, and MLFN communities.
Other:
- Ability to speak Cree and/or Dene Language is considered an asset
- 1-5 years’ experience with providing diagnostic assessment and therapy services to a full range of individuals from youth through adulthood, addressing a wide variety of challenges and disorders at a First Nation.
- 3-5 years’ experience working/providing mental health services at a First Nation
- Indigenous Cultural Safety Training
- Demonstrates a high level of person and professional integrity and wellness.
Rate:
- To be discussed
- Travel, incidentals, meals and lodging as per MLTC policy upon pre-approval by MLTC Community Wellness Director.
Scope of Work:
- Children, Youth and Adult
- Individual, couple, family, and group therapy (in-person preferred; virtual as backup).
- Trauma-focused care, brief interventions, school and justice referred clients.
- Trauma, Sexual Assault & Abuse, Grief & Bereavement, Addictions, Relationships, Anxiety/Depression, Other.
- Provide Mental Health Therapy services to the many different modalities used.
- Emergency Medical Record (EMR) compliance
- Virtual appointments (Ocean MD)
