Expression of Interest
The Meadow Lake Tribal Council invites Mental Health Therapist contractors to submit an “Expression of Interest” for MLTC Therapy/Counselling. The contractor will work under the direction of the MLTC Senior Director of Health & Social Development and will provide Mental Health therapy/counselling to the members of the Meadow Lake Tribal Council First Nations.
Purpose:
- To provide clients with access to professional Mental Health treatment required on an early intervention, short-term basis, to address at-risk, crisis situations when such treatment is not available or accessible in their community.
- To improve and stabilize the Mental Health of individuals and families who have experienced a traumatic event or crisis.
Skills & Abilities:
- Culturally Competent Services – Culture as Foundation
- Trauma Informed Care
- Suicide Risk Assessments and Safety Plans
- Addressing Substance Use & Access to Treatment Services
- Understanding of the First Nations Wellness Continuum Model
- Client Stabilization
- Demonstrated computer skills. Ability to input data into the Electronic Medical Records system
- Ability to speak either Cree or Dene is a definite asset
