Congratulations to Meadow Lake Tribal Council Industrial Investments (MLTCII) on winning the 2023 Aboriginal Economic Development Cooperation award from the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business. For more than 10 years, Paper Excellence has worked in partnership with the Meadow Lake Tribal Council through Mistik Management Limited, a company dedicated to the sustainable use and stewardship of 1.9 million hectares of forest in northwestern Saskatchewan. We value the work they do and our mutual partnership.

The Meadow Lake Tribal Council (MLTC) received funding through the Public Health Agency of Canada to carry out a project we are very passionate about. The name of our project is “Together Let’s Build Vaccine Confidence.”
One of the focuses of this project was to create an educational video regarding Covid-19 vaccine hesitancy. We collaborated with the communities of Ministikwan Lake Cree Nation, Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation and Clearwater River Dene Nation and interviewed youth, adults and elders for the video. Through these interviews our participants shared their personal experiences on what life was like for them during the pandemic, their thoughts on the virus, their beliefs on Covid-19 vaccines and more importantly what led them to making their decision to vaccinate or not to vaccinate.
We are honored and deeply grateful to our participants for taking the time to be interviewed, for sharing their stories with us and providing us with more knowledge than we had before.
