The Meadow Lake Tribal Council (MLTC) received funding through the Public Health Agency of Canada to carry out a project we are very passionate about. The name of our project is “Together Let’s Build Vaccine Confidence.”
One of the focuses of this project was to create an educational video regarding Covid-19 vaccine hesitancy. We collaborated with the communities of Ministikwan Lake Cree Nation, Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation and Clearwater River Dene Nation and interviewed youth, adults and elders for the video. Through these interviews our participants shared their personal experiences on what life was like for them during the pandemic, their thoughts on the virus, their beliefs on Covid-19 vaccines and more importantly what led them to making their decision to vaccinate or not to vaccinate.
We are honored and deeply grateful to our participants for taking the time to be interviewed, for sharing their stories with us and providing us with more knowledge than we had before.
